Our thyroid works with a specific set of elements called halogens.
Today, our food and environment are filled with Fluoride, Chlorine
and Bromine, all of which are the bad halogens. When we don't get enough
Iodine, the bad guy halogens take up receptors and cause our thyroid to
function improperly. Research hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism to
see what happens to us when our thyroids are out of whack.
When was the last time you got some iodine? Even if you have and use
iodized table salt, you've been told salt is bad for you so you
really don't use much. So how much are you actually getting?
Probably a lot less than you are of the other halogens.
Ok, so we get some Iodine from salt. Heres where we get the
others halogens: water, flour(bread), drinks, processed foods, clothing, carpets,
deodorants, tooth paste, electronics, 'new car smell', couches, beds,
shoes, refrigerator handles(ok thats pushing it)
So there's a pretty good chance the bad guys had their way with
our receptors. This also means there's a pretty good chance our
thyroid isn't able to function properly.
Our body can cope with temporary thyroid issues pretty well. It can
even handle minor thyroid issues for a long time. But we keep adding
more and more toxins and getting less Iodine. Our diets are also declining.
Even eating organic might not provide enough Iodine. Then compound
this over generations.
